Chocolate and peanut butter, Netflix and chill, Stan and Ollie, Kirk and Spock, John Steed and Emma Peel, wine and cheese … the world is full of great things that are even greater together.
Which is no less true for sextoys. Case in point, Lovense’s Max 2 & Nora Couple Set: a pair of thoroughly awesome products that, when used together, can make any couple’s bedroom antics sexually superlative.
And not merely when they’re in the same room, as the Max 2, for those with penises, and the Nora, for people with vulvas, were practically made for long-distance, teledildonic enjoyments.
So let’s take a quick look at these sextech delights, weighing their pluses and any potential minuses, and, in the end, if they should become a welcome part of your amorous activities.
Or like oil and water, forks and electrical sockets, pineapple and pizza, and toothpaste and orange juice, they may not sit well with you—and especially what you like to do between the sheets.
Examining the Max 2
When it comes to powered masturbators, few come close to the Max 2 in regards sensuality, pleasuring options, or sextech smarts.
On the first, the Max 2’s sleeve manages to perfectly balance a lifelike, natural feel with a range of novel sensations. Not to mention its extended vibrator delivering 360-degree contractions and, using its air pump, increasing or decreasing its contractions.
For the second, users can adjust or release its suction compliments via a small valve located on its base. And, if they’re looking for an extra-lifelike, far more natural sensation, Lovense sells a vaginal sleeve that can easily be swapped out should this need—or desire—arise.
Thirdly, since the Max 2 is fully Lovense Remote App compatible, it’s as easy as one-two-three to Bluetooth connect it to any other one of their smart sextoys for fully interactive, wonderfully responsive in-the-same-room or anywhere-in-the-world shared erotic experiences.
As well as make fine adjustments to the Max 2’s motors, create and share user-created vibration playlists, set it to vibe to music or nearby sounds, or respond when something sexy happens in specialty-coded adult videos.
And due to the recently announced partnership between Lovense and SexLifeReal, the Max 2 users now have access to a more of these and other sexually explicit entertainments than ever before.
Controlling the Max 2 without the app is by two buttons near its base: pressing the top to turn it on or off or change any of its three vibration speeds and pick any of its four installed patterns—with pushing the bottom button to select whichever of its three contraction levels you want.
Looking at the Nora
The Nora may not be designed to do what the Max 2 does, but because they share the same sextech pedigree, all of Max 2’s electronic delights can be enjoyed by vulva-owners as well.
The fun doesn’t stop there. Looking—and feeling—like it’s the culmination of years of hard work perfecting the classic rabbit vibrator, the Nora boasts a pair of powerful motors: a rotating one for G-spot stimulation and a vibrator for clitoral pleasuring—with three available speeds for the G-spot and the same plus four built-in patterns for its clit end.
Those motors can be operated together or separately with the Lovense Remote, making it a snap to switch between them or combined into whatever suits the sexual moods of its user.
On the Nora itself, there are two buttons for selecting those multiple options. In addition to powering it up or shutting it down, the top is for vibration control, with the bottom switching between how fast it rotates and in which direction.
Measuring the Lovense Max 2 & Nora
At nine and a half inches from stem to stern and three and nearly one-third in diameter, Max 2 is one beefy masturbator, which is certainly beneficial for anyone concerned about not fitting or unexpectedly (ouch) hitting its end.
That said, its size means it’s far from being a pocket pal who’s fun to be with—and could be possibly an embarrassing concern when traveling.
On the other hand, the Nora is large enough to get the job done while small enough to be comfortably portable as its insertable length is barely four and three-quarter inches, and its handle slightly more than three inches.
Charging the Max 2 and the Nora
Both toys use a magnetic charging cable, though the Max 2’s is occasionally a bit fiddly to attach or keep connected.
If there’s anything my experience with these and other Lovense toys has taught me its to use a dedicated USB power supply—particularly the fast-charging variety as otherwise charging the Max 2 may take longer than Lovense’s recommended two, or the Nora’s two and half hours.
Afterward, the Max 2 is good for an hour and a half—more or less considering how many of its features you’re using. At the same time, the Nora can go the distance at four hours and five days in standby mode.
Cleaning the Max 2 and the Nora
The skin-contacting parts of the Nora and the Max 2 are silicone or silicone-based. Though their other bits, like the Nora’s lower half and the Max 2’s outer shell, aren’t
Since they’re not 100% silicone, neither is entirely waterproof, so you shouldn’t use much water or completely submerge them when cleaning.
This is easier with Nora. Merely give the toy a quick splash of warm water with a small amount of sex toy cleaner or antibacterial soap, a similarly brief rinse, and ending with a good dry with a lint-free cloth.
Not at all the same with the Max 2. Instead, Lovense recommends removing and cleaning the sleeve sans soap to avoid damaging it.
For the shell’s interior, make sure the air vent is closed to prevent water remaining in it, only use a minuscule amount of water, and then dry everything thoroughly when you’re done.
What you get with the Max 2 & Nora Couple set
Purchased independently or in the couple set, the Max 2 and the Nora come with a magnetic charging cable and a User Manual.
Whey they don’t many extras, in Lovense’s favor their boxes are sturdy where they should be and overall quite attractive—much more than many of their competition’s. So I won’t knock them for scrimping on stuff like storage bags or samples of lube.
Max 2 and Nora with the Lovense Remote app
There’s a good reason why Lovense bundled their Max 2 and Nora together. Rather, several good reasons, like if you’re a CISgender straight couple, you’ll get the perfect set of toys for all of your sexual endeavors at once—and at a discount to boot!
And how, too, they are Lovense’s flagship toys. Not that they think less of their other products, but when it comes to how these two are supported and how much and where they are marketed, the Max 2 and Nora tend to get the lion’s share.
For example, the Max 2 is heralded as their toy-of-choice for interactive adult entertainment—with the Nora coming in close behind.
So it should come as no surprise Lovense would package them together. That and how well they work with content such as SexLikeReal’s videos and explicit games such as Wild Life and Lovense’s own Mirror Life.
Made all the easier with the upgraded Lovense Remote App. Available for Android or iPhone, in addition to PC or Apple computers—with connecting everything together via Bluetooth—it’s ridiculously simple to link a Max 2 and Nora, so if “this” movement or action takes place, it’s copied by the other toy in “that” way.
Seriously, you have to see it for yourself as it’s like something out of science fiction. Well, erotic science fiction, as I never get tired of how smooth and frustration-free setting them up is or how responsive they are—even when hundreds or thousands of miles lie between them.
Alas, perfection is also fictional. Such as how the desktop Lovense Remote Apps don’t hold a candle to the smartphone versions. So much so I recommend sticking with an Android or iPhone for Max 2 and Nora interconnectivity.
Pros:
- Max 2 is an amazing sleeve masturbator
- Nora is a fantastic clitoral and G-spot vibrator
- Are Lovense’s flagship products
- Each has an impressive number of stimulating options
- Both take full advantage of the Lovense Remote app’s many features
- Full interactivity between Max 2 and Nora
Cons:
- Perhaps not ideal for same-sex couples
- If anyone doesn’t prefer G-spot or clitoral toys, other bundles may be more suitable
- Cleaning Max 2 and Nora can be time-consuming
The verdict
Ah, the moment of truth. Do I, or don’t I, feel the Lovense Max 2 & Nora Couple Set is Chocolate and peanut butter, Netflix and chill, or is it forks and electrical sockets, pineapple and pizza?
Chasing to the jump, for sure, absolutely, definitely, and assuredly no duh if you’re a CISgendered, straight couple aroused by the idea of leaping into the steamy, sweaty, orgasm-filled wonderland of teledildonics.
Otherwise, if you’re not CIS-gendered or straight and also fantasize about diving into the spicy, juicy, come-drenched tomorrowland of long-distance, fully interactive sexual escapes, don’t wander too far off as Lovense has other bundles you’ll probably like.
As in a lot! So CIS or not, straight or not, go forth and find your own sextech greatness—made greater with more than one toy.
